This week's challenge is to create a card for a kid. I think that cards for teenage boys are probably few and far between, so I made a few of these:
Papers from DCWV, Background layer embossed with a crocodile texture plate, tennis shoes are embedded glitter and wet embossing (passed the sweater test), sentiment form Fiskars, stash ribbon.

ÓWH Mid Week Throw Down - Pastels
This week's challenge is to make a card using pastel colors. I didn't have enough time today to try the great background technique that Nanny from Tramp Stamps shared with us today-I hope to try it this weekend. For now, this will have to do!!
I am without my photo editing software again so this image is not the best. Stash papers. Studio G Sentiment. The Easter Egg is a Wal Mart clearance find from last spring.

I cut up my favorite piece of paper!
I know we all have some. Paper that we love. We look at it, admire it, consider the possibilities. In my case, I pet it (it is flocked - I am not THAT strange!). I thought about using it, but I just couldn't.
Well, Nancy from Stamp Tramps challenged me to put on my big girl panties and stop hoarding that beautiful paper. Deep breath.
I adapted Seongsook Duncan's 12 x 12 One Sheet Wonder template and cut it into pieces. I mean, how could I possibly waste any of that beautiful paper?!?
My Minds Eye Lush paper and coordinating brads in orange. Here are my cards:
Hmmm. I have another piece of flocked paper from the same collection. Maybe someday... Thank for the nudge, Nancy! And thank you for the fun stamps and papers!

OWH Sketch Challenge 206
This week's sketch over at OWH looks like this:
Here is my first try:
I didn't love it. Too much white space, even with the embossing. So I tried again:
MUCH better! American Crafts My Girl papers, TPC Studios sentiment, Spellbinders dies.

Words 2 Scrap By
Boy, am I red-faced. I wrote up this post last week, and I didn't publish it!!! ARGH!!!
My OWH friend Sybrina from Scrapping With Purpose (now There's Always the Other Side) and I have started a new monthly challenge blog. Join us for Words 2 Scrap By!!! Our first challenge is based on the Sound of Music song My Favorite Things. You know the song, raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens...
Here is my response:
Raindrops. I always think of baby and wedding showers when I hear the first line of the song. This card was specially made for my niece's upcoming baby shower - it's a girl! Cricut cut file from Pagoda at 2.75, K&Co epoxy stickers, Fiskars Rain texture plate. TPC Studios sentiment.
In honor of our inaugural challenge - I am offering a My Favorite Things (another great supporter of OWH!) stamp set as blog candy! All you need to do is become a follower of our new blog (Words 2 Scrap By) to win! Random.org will choose a winner on January 6, 2014. You MUST be a follower of Words 2 Scrap By to win. Thank you!!
