All That Glitters...

The Shopping Our Stash challenge this week is All That Glitters...  Since I have an embarrassing hoard of metallic paper, challenge accepted!!!

For my shaker card, I used a Lawn Fawn die to create a window into embossed gold paper, and used coarse glitter as my filling.  My crafting friends would be astounded - I despise glitter!  In the spirit of Shopping Our Stash, I broke out a very old (20+ years) jar just for this project.

The Words 2 Craft BY Change challenge runs through February 1 - come join us!

Jingle Belles Joy

The Jingle Belles Stick-y & Sweet challenge is to use a sticker.  I have plenty, and needed this motivation to use them!

DCWV Magic Stack patterned paper, Printworks Joy sticker, stash ribbon.  I tried to emboss the snowflake paper, but the silver peeled off the snowflakes.  Lesson learned!!

The Words to Craft By challenge - Change is open through February 1.  Come join us!

NBUS #9 - Colorburst Hello

I have a fabulous basket of new goodies, but find myself going back to my favorites.  That's why I love Darnell's NBUS challenges, which ask us to focus on using our "Never Before Used Schtuff".
New schtuff - A1 card and envelope, Lawn Fawn hello die, and rarely used Color Burst powders.  I wasn't sure I would like the card size, but I really like the smaller "canvas"!!

Lots of time left to play along with our Words 2 Craft By challenge - Changes!

Is COFFEE a hobby?!?

The Cuttlebug Mania challenge to create something that reflects a hobby.  My friend Diana is quite the coffee maven, does that count as a hobby?!?!?!?!
Sizzix Alterations embossing folder inked with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, Momenta patterned paper, Spellbinder oval die.

Pink & Gray

Cards in Envy has a Pink & Gray challenge.  These colors make me think of elephants!
Unity image and sentiment.  Elephant is paper pieced in one of three gray papers and one gray silk ribbon, shiny pink paper and grosgrain ribbon.  Glossy accents on the stars.  I made a lot of pretty trash on the way to this one!

Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By!  Our challenge is "Change".

Christmas Quilt

The Paper Girls have challenged us to use patterned paper, as many as we can.  Well, my favorite way to use scraps is to make a quilt.
I made this using the cover from an old DCWV cover.  The small scale swatches on covers are perfect for quilt type cards.  I embossed it with Divine Swirls to make it look like quilting.  Lot of time to join us at the Words 2 Craft By Change challenge!

Painted Poppy

I am in love with the Alte & New Painted Poppies set.
I paired it with a SU! Sincere Salutations sentiment, edged the panel and card base in silver leaf, and popped up the white panel.  Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By for our Change challenge!

I am sharing this with the Can You Case It color challenge:

W2CB #37 - Change

Our January/February words of inspiration come to us from Glen Ballard and Siedah Garrett.

If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change

I chose to interpret the words as reflection on myself.  How do I want to be better this year?  I tend to be very hard on myself and my papercrafts, and I want to work toward this:
I want to do things for the joy of doing it - not because I feel like I should, and enjoy the process and the outcome.

The white-looking tiles are mirror paper and the sentiment is heat embossed in silver.

Show us how you interpret:
