Pink and Tag Thank You Card

The Less is More Challenge is to create a card using a tag, and Cards in Envy's challenge is Pretty in Pink.  After a few failed attempts, I finally came up with one I like.
Looks more purple than pink in the photo.  Stamper's Best sentiment, DCWV paper, stash twill tape. Check back on May 1 for the latest Words2ScrapBy.blogspot.com challenge!

Masculine Birthday Card

This week's challenge over at The Male Room is to make a card using numbers.  The silver number are a partial failure from last week's challenge that I could not bear to recycle.  I cut it down to 3 x 3, mounted on silver mirrored paper, and layered on a black card base.  Not my usual style, but I am happy enough!!
Hero Arts background stamp, heat embossed in silver, ancient sentiment.

Texture Me!

Shopping Our Stash's theme is Texture Me,  use your oldest embossing supply.
The white background pattern was done with an ancient Fiskars texture plate, balloons cut with Sizzix die and textured with chevron embossing folder, We R Memory Keepers twine.

Inspiration

I try hard to create something every day - even if it is just dinner!!  I had an amazing day in my craft room.  I cleaned, sorted, and actually finished a few cards!!!

The Challenge #31 was to create something based on this image:
http://alwaysplayingwithpaper.blogspot.ca/2015/04/the-challenge-31-inspiration-challenge.html
I couldn't  decide which one I liked best, so I decided to post both of my options.
I loved both cards.  I am not a super vintage - type person, but am quite happy with both responses to the challenge.  Both cards have the image stamped on vellum with Ranger Ink, and the parasol colored with pencils.   Vellum is mounted over 7 Gypsies patterned paper, no clue as to the maker of the image.  Which do you like best - red or black card base?

OWH April Mid Month Challenge - Stitching

The mid month challenge from Operation Write Home is to use stitching on a card.  Did you know that you can use an embroidery machine to stitch on paper?
Handmade paper, embroidery courtesy of my mother in law!  She is a very talented designer, check out her website HeirloomStitches.net, she has a lot of free sample designs scattered throughout the site.  I liked that one so much, I made another!

Mod Squad Challenge - Encouragement

This week's challenge over at the Mod Squad is to create a card of encouragement.  Unfortunately, I will need quite a few of these in the next few months.  One of my favorite cousins has been diagnosed with breast cancer :(  This card reflects my feelings perfectly.

W2SB April Challenge - The Earth Has Music

The earth has music for those who listen.
- George Santayana

This month's Words 2 Scrap By  inspiration words can go in so many directions.  I chose to see the words as that eerie calm at dusk, when the day creatures are settling in for the night, and the night creatures are just waking.

The background is inked with Tim Holtz Distress Inks, and layered with textured black paper.  The birds are cut with a Sizzix die, and mounted behind a black frame that started out as a Sizzix square die, and was cut a second time to make it a rectangle.  Woot woot!  I learned a way to make my square dies cut rectangles!!!  The sentiment is a very old K & Co. metal embellishment.  How do you hear our earth's music?  Link up your creation to Words 2 Scrap By!!
