Watercolor Hello

I've been missing my Mom a lot lately, so I thought I would make a card in her favorite color.

Watercolor background, Lawn Fawn die cut Hello cut and layered 3x and highlighted with Wink of Stella.  Sharing this with the Less is More Anything But Stamps Challenge and Fusion Hello Challenge.  Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By and show us how you define Liberty!!

Watt's Up?

I puled out a Technique Tuesday stamp set, some washi tape, and OWH sketch #108.
This is a bit different from my usual, layered style.  The washi is applied directly to the card base, only the vertical strip is layered.  My fingers are twitching a bit, wanting to add more.  I will be strong!!  Sharing this with the Shopping Our Stash You Light Up My Life challenge (are you singing that song, too?), and the Always Playing With Paper black, white, and one other color challenge

Still time to play along with us at Words 2 Craft By Liberty challenge!!

Colored Card Base One Layer Card

This was a tough challenge from Less is More and AAA Cards.  For a layer-lover like me, this is really difficult for me.
Navy blue card base, paint blob by Your Next Stamp, white ink from Simon Says Stamp stamped multiple times with my MISTI, older SU! letter inked on top of the white.

CAS

The Shopping Our Stash challenge is to create a Clean and Simple project.  Here is my first attempt:
It's OK.  I like the butterfly's pop of color, the silver border, and all of the white space, but something was missing.  Here is my second attempt:
I made the panel slightly larger, cropped it a little differently, and adding the sentiment.  Much better!!

Christmas in July

I make Christmas cards all year so that I don't need to use store bought.  Makes the holidays a lot less stressful, and the card a little more meaningful.  I am joining in challenges at the Color Throwdown and CAS-ual Fridays
My response to CTD uses the appropriate colors, but is the complete opposite seasonally!!
I love pink and green for Christmas.  I thought I would put some of my (shamefully) large ribbon collection to use!  I taped ribbons to a base, die cut and embossed the white layer, added the bow and sentiment, and attached with a tiny safety pin.  This makes me happy!!!

This Words 2 Craft By challenge is based on a quote from George Washington:
Liberty is a year long idea to me, one that can be expressed in many ways through themes, colors, occasion, etc.

SU Sincere Salutations sentiment, Oh So Lovely image, Derwent watercolor pencils, stash ribbon for the bow. Please join us at Words 2 Craft By.  How do YOU define liberty!?!  Show us HERE!

Color Throwdown #450

This week's challenge and my response:
http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/2017/07/color-throwdown-450.html
The primary colors in the inspiration image made me think of Legos!!  I dragged the edges of the punched circles in Versamark ink to make the circles look dimensional.  I miss the deadline to link up to the CTD challenge last week - hope I don't miss it again!  Check back on Wednesday for the next Word 2 Craft By Challenge.

Birthdy Wishes

The Color Throwdown challenge looks like this:
I loved the orange poppy, and decided to pair Alte New Painted Poppy set and Sincere Salutations:
Same stamps and payouts, slightly different colors and dimensions.  Happy with both versions!
