Congratulations in Blue

The Card in Envy challenge is Blue.  I wove some strips of Echo Park Baby Boy paper, and layered onto a lovely blue base.
I love this non-traditional baby card!  Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By and show us where you feel most alive!

Out on a Limb

This is WAY out of my comfort zone.  Coloring, owls, puns - not something you see on my projects!
I stamped the owl all over, colored them with Inktense pencils, and layered the panels on green and black.  I am sharing this cutie with:

Great Scrap Sketch

Try Stampin' on Tuesday has a sketch challenge this week that is perfect for scraps;

I used scraps from Ahoy There by Carta Bella on a navy base:
The sentiment is an older Provo Craft die layered on white twill tape.  Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By and show us where you feel most alive!

Playful Palette

I bought the SU DSP Playful Pallette paper to go with a Paper Pumpkin, but I never figured out what to do with it.  Then I saw the Tuesday Morning Sketch this week!  It's perfect for a very busy, bold patterned paper.
The organza ribbon on the first one needed the tie, but I think the wider grosgrain on the second was good without it.  I really liked how Patti had her die cut sentiment extend outside of the oval, and I decided to do the same.  Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By and show us where you feel most alive!

Terrific in Teal

The Paper Girls have a challenge to use a bicycle on a project.
Love this!!!  So summery, the color makes me think of the ocean on Hilton Head.  The beaches there are perfect for a bike ride!

Summers Colors and Swirly Bird

The Color Throwdown #497 has beautiful sherbet colors:
https://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/2018/06/color-throwdown-497.html
I have seen some cards that use multiple Swiry Birds die cuts in different colors, and then are recombined.
Love this layout!  Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By (through July 4) to show us where you feel most alive.

Pretty Sympathy Card

I am afraid I have needed WAY too many sympathy card lately.  I loved this sketch from Clean & Simple Fall to Layout:

I heat embossed the sentiment in white, and inked up the panel with Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, and Fired Brick distress oxide inks.  Topped off the die cut with SU! Antique Gold seam binding.  I love the restful colors.

Twofer Card Challenge - Trees

I love entering the Twofer Card challenges.  They really make me stretch my creative thinking.  This round, I used the same stamp in very different ways.

First up, the image is heat embossed in white glitter on navy pearl and paired with an elegant Merry Christmas:
CAS, but still has enough depth and texture to keep things interesting.

This is my third attempt at a spotlight card:
I have needed WAY too many sympathy cards recently.  Love how the lone tree in the center reflects how alone we feel in grief (no matter how many people are there to love and support), yet there are others nearby in love.

SU! Lovely Trees.  First sentiment from Creative Station, second from Gina Marie.  The latest Words 2 Craft By challenge runs from June 13 through July 4.  Come play along with us!!

Happy Birthday Balloons!

The Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge this week is about colors:
I used the colors with different metallic papers:
The red and gold are mirror paper, the navy is pearl, and the white is frosted.  I used silver elastic for the balloon strings.  Check back on Wednesday fro a new Words 2 Craft By Challenge!!

Fun Shaker Card

Try Stampin' on Tuesday June challenge is to make a shaker card.
I die cut the two ornaments in matte metallic paper, and filled them with silver, purple, pink, and green sequins, and topped them with pink satin bows.  I started to add a sentiment, but I like the simplicity.  Such fun!!

Tiaras and Sprinkles

CAS-ual Fridays has a birthday challenge!
I played around with some alcohol inks for the background, and layered a cool die cut on top.  The sentiment was stamped in oxide ink and heat embossed in clear.  Love making the 3.5" x 5" cards.

Wedding Shower Card

We are throwing a wedding shower for our niece Anna next weekend, so the Shopping Our Stash congratulations card challenge is perfect timing.

She is having a barn wedding, so I wanted to carry on the rustic theme for her shower.  I has a hard time adhering the burlap flower, so I wound up stitching it to the paper.  Very simple card, but I love all of the dimension and texture.  Since I will be giving it to her at the shower, the thickness is not an issue.  Love it!!

Thanks for all of the well wishes for my son.  He is doing much better, and starting physical therapy next week.  Long road ahead, but excellent prognosis for a full recovery!  Doctors are even saying that he should be able to jump again next season.  Yay!!
