Sparkly Butterflies

I have this fabulous Paint Chip paper pad, with each page full of different shades of the same colors.  It's perfect for someone like me who has problems matching colors!!

Butterflies were die cut from an older Spellbinder set.  I added the rhinestones, a narrow ribbon, and DONE!  Sharing this with the CAS-ual Fridays CFC 174 sketch challenge:

Favorite Color Combo

I love gray, all 50 shades of it :).  Pairing it with lime green or lemon yellow makes me happy.
Very old (hoarded) Amy Butler patterned paper layered on dark gray, Watercolor Wishes sentiment, stash glass accents.  I'm sharing this with the Cards in Envy Favorite Color Combo/Anything Goes challenge.

I Like Your Style!

The Shopping Our Stash challenge is to use fabric on a project.
I layered the mirrored copper on a black card base.  The dress is cut from flannel backed satin and hung on a copper hanger.  The purse is made from shiny black paper and linen cord and heat embossed in copper.   Perfect birthday card for my fashionista niece!!

Love-ly Tag

Joining in the Tag You're It challenge to use this image for inspiration:

I loved the pretty red/pink shades and the layering.
I stamped used AlteNew Poppies is shades on pinks, and layered it on solid cards tock.  The sentiment is from Art C.

Getting Inky...

The Color Throwdown this week uses great spring colors.
I used the sketch from the Fusion Card Challenge:

and came up with this:
I started with a mottled gold base, and added a Recollections resist paper inked up in yellow, green, and blue.  I also inked white paper and dies cut the thanks and the circle, added more mottled paper for the base circle layer, and popped up the focal point.

Shaker Birthday Card

The current House of Cards sequins challenge prompt looks like this:
I immediately thought of a shaker card, and decided to include different shapes in my sequin confetti.
Loving the hot pink glitter paper with the white glitter paper!  I heat embossed the "birthday" in white on the pink.  This card makes me happy!!  Come play along with us for our Words 2 Craft By Celebrations challenge!!!

Opportunities for Embellishment.....

I started out playing with the Color Throwdown:
Then I dropped my ink pad on my card front and I smeared black ink in the white space of the card.  :(.   Then I remembered the CAS Mix Up Challenge!
Rather than toss it, I flicked more black ink on it to make it look intentional.
I decided to try again.
While both cards work, I prefer the second one.  The white space is more my style.  Watercolor Wishes sentiment, Meadows image, Yellow, blue, grey, and stone ink.

W2CB #41: Springtime = Party Time

Our new challenge at Words 2 Craft By is:

Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's Party!"

In my large Catholic family, springtime usually mean First Communions and Confirmations.  I made this one for my beloved niece Eden for her First Communion.
I used a Sizzix swing card die set to make this card that features a very old Recollections sticker.  This layout is so fun, but it doesn't leave much room to include a note.  Guess that could be a good or bad thing!!!  Come join us at Words 2 Craft By for your spring celebration!!!

Another Swirly Scribbles

I hope you aren't getting tired of this set - I certainly am not!!  The CAS-ual Fridays challenge is to use navy, pink, and white.  Perfect for a crisp and clean card!
I paired a sentiment from Watercolor Wishes with flowers and leaves from Catherine Pooler's Lovely Notes.  I added white and clear beadies to the center of the flowers for a little shine.
