SRM Stickers by the Dozen Birthday Card

I spent the afternoon making birthday cards using SRM Stickers by the Dozen.  I only bought one sheet, as I am not really a sticker person.  Now I wish I had bought a variety.  I rarely make duplicate cards, but the first one came out so well, I decided to make a bunch.

OWH Sketch Challenge #165

This week's Operation Write Home sketch #165 looks like this:

165

Here is one version:

DCWV Taj Mahal Foil and Glitter stack.  The paper has the covered glitter - safe for OWH!  Stamp from My Favorite Things Dream Big set.  SEI ink, over stamped with Tsukineko Moonlight White.  Border punch from American Crafts.  Offray satin ribbon.

Another version:

The gold border was part of the base DP, I slit the right edge and inserted the sentiment strip.  A lot prettier in person, but not a favorite.  Sentiment Above Rubies Studio, ink SEI, paper DCWV Taj Mahal.

OWH Mid Week Throw Down - Ombre

The Mid Week Throw Down at OWH is to make a card using the concept of ombre - shaded in tones from light to dark.

 Something like this:

I needed some Sympathy cards, so I went with more somber tones.  I like the elegance of it, even if it is a bit stark.

OWH Design Bootcamp - Any Way You Slice It

Operation Write Home has a monthly Bootcamp teaching different cardmaking concepts.  This month, it is about the Rule of Thirds - Any Way You Slice It.

Here is mine.  I am not sure if I followed the rules, but I do like the end result.  Constructive feedback is welcome!

The beads are left over from a different OWH project, scissor leashes for last year's CHA Make and Leave.  The hoop is a wine charm ring.  Sizzix embossing folder.  Offray organza ribbon.

I love this one!!!  Here is my first attempt::

I liked it, but thought it looked a little plain.  So I tried again, and added the gold stars.  :

They both work for me!!

Masculine Thank You Card

Operation Write Home is always looking for Thank You cards.

I saw this one on Pinterest, and I loved it.    It was uploaded directly to Pinterest, so I can't link directly to the inspiration, just to the board.

Love how it turned out.  Will be a great one for making multiples!

I dusted off my Creative Memories circle cutting templates, and cut the circles in dark maroon and black.  I layered the circles around the sentiment from Fiskars, and layered that on mirrored paper embossed with a Sizzix folder.  Brads from stash.

OWH Mid Week Throw Down - Tic Tac Toe

This Mid Week Throw Down is a little different.  We were to choose three elements to make our card.  I boxed the three I chose.

 Here is my card:

The rhinestones are really pearls, but I though they were close enough!  There are two smaller pearls in the scrolling on the image.  I started with clear crystals, but they were too flashy for the card. The background is an alligator skin pattern from a Fiskars texture plate, other papers from Amy Butler Lotus.  Border punch from American Crafts.  Stamp from Fiskars.  Spellbinder Oval Scallop dies. Sketch #26 from The Decontructed Sketch by Jen

This card is also for Shopping Our Stash Challenge 92 - use a neglected border punch.  Now I remember why I rarely use the border punches, I never get them lined up correctly!!!!

I have missed participating the the OWH challenges, but my time has been stretched very thin, between work, family, and traveling to help clear out my Mom's house, there just isn't much left!!  Today was a snow day for most schools in our area - play time!!
