Stamped Background

Fall to Layout has a sketch challenge:
My interpretation:
SU! Delicate Doilies stamped in Worn Lipstick Oxide ink, layered on a grey mat and white card base.  I didn't have the right pink paper for the sentiment, so I inked a scrap of white with more Worn Lipstick, and highlighted it with Wink of Stella.  Last post of the day - I promise!

Cardinal in Winter

I broke out my Inka Gold and colored an embossed image:
I heat embossed the Hampton Arts sentiment, rounded the corners, and mounted it on a black card base, leaving only a small edge showing.  Sharing this with Addicted to CAS #132 - Birds, hopefully it is CAS enough!  Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By for our Phenomenal Woman challenge - it closes April 4.

Chocolate Bunny

Try Stampin On Tuesday has an Easter sketch challenge:
Here is my version using a Gina Marie die and Simple Stories papers:

Defining Vintage

The Jingle Belles' challenge is Spirit of Christmas Past.  I am not really a shabby chic or traditional vintage person.  My favorite vintage period is the 1950s and 60s.  No one said vintage had to be a specific time frame!!
I layered the Hot Off The Press die cut on to some funky paper and popped it up with foam tape.  I fussy cut the sentiment and added a bit of Wink of Stella for depth.  The black ribbon is silk moire trimmed from an old wedding invitation liner.  I think this is my favorite Christmas card so far in 2018!!

Acetate and Alcohol Inks

I combined the CAS Mix It Up Chalenge for Acetate + Stamping + Your Choice, with the colors for The Color Throwdown
 &

I used Purple Twilight and Lettuce Adirondack alcohol inks on acetate, stamped the older CTMH sentiments in Staz On, and layered it on a white background framed in black.  I sandwiched the die cut between the acetate and the white background, since I struggled to glue the die cut to the acetate.  Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By for our Phenomenal Women challenge!

She Blinded Me With Science!

That 80s song has been running through my head since I saw The Male Room Space/Science challenge.  While the music came easily, the project did not!!  I was trying to make some donations for Cards for Soldiers, love but not girly.  Here is my first attempt:
I really like this one, but not sure it is masculine enough for The Male Room challenge.  For my next attempt, I tried to make the background look like outer space.
While the second is not girly, I still like the first one better.  Image and sentiment from Unity, stash paper on the first card, and Distress Oxide in on the second.  What do you think?  Would a man send the first card to a woman?  Or a woman send it to a man?  Let me know in the comments.

Happy Birthday!

I am back form my latest trip.  I loved spending down time with my family, especially since these times are fewer and further between as my son becomes an adult.  So, back to crafting!!
Provo Craft embossing folder, Core'dinations paper sanded, Hero Arts stamps and dies, stash ribbon.

W2CB #51 - Phenomenal Woman

Welcome to the Words 2 Craft By Challenge!  This month's inspiring words are:
Some of the most phenomenal women I know battle health and financial issues every day and continue to care for their families.  Here's to the women who persevere!
Very simple card, but this Concord & 9th die have more than enough detail for the card.  I only added the ticket corner punch from We R Memory Keepers.  I made a bunch of these for Gilda's House.

Phenomenal women (and men!), join us for this Words 2 Craft By Challenge through April 4!!

Bunnies!

The Creative With Stamps challenge is:
I use my favorite paper - Lawn Fawn plaid, added a doily, baker's twine, and a chocolate bunny.  I like these smaller cards - 5" x 3.5" - for this background.
Check back on Wednesday for our new Words 2 Craft By Challenge!

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

This week, the Jingle Belles have challenged us to make a card using inchies.  I love paper pad covers almost as much as I love the paper inside.  There are often miniature images of the patterned paper, perfect for inchies or banners.  These are 4.25" x 5.5" cards.
I embossed the 3.5" x 5" card, but the sentiment was hard to read.  Looks pretty good in the picture, though!
Just a few more days to join us at Words 2 Craft By for our Blizzard of Kisses challenge!!

RIP Karli

I had to make a card for my friend who lost her beloved Westie.
I don't use digis very often, and printed this one a long time ago.  I layered it on a strip of paw print paper, and accented with a metal heart tag and resin bowl and hydrant.  I embossed the envelope flap with a paw print folder.  Sharing this with Cards in Envy Give it Some Heart.  Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By for our Blizzard of Kisses challenge through March 7.

I'm BAACCKKK!

I have been away for a while.  I went on vacation with friends (more on that to come), and have been sick ever since.  I'm so happy to be back in my craft room!!
I broke out this stencil that arrived before my vacation, but didn't get a chance to use.   I had to try both of the sizes of the same pattern with Oxides Inks, and added sentiments from The Ton.  LOVE!!  Sharing this with the Shopping Our Stash Stencil and the CAS-ual Fridays Beautiful Rainbows challenges.
