Boy, am I red-faced. I wrote up this post last week, and I didn't publish it!!! ARGH!!!
My OWH friend Sybrina from Scrapping With Purpose (now There's Always the Other Side) and I have started a new monthly challenge blog. Join us for Words 2 Scrap By!!!
Our first challenge is based on the Sound of Music song My Favorite
Things. You know the song, raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens...
Here is my response:
Raindrops.
I always think of baby and wedding showers when I hear the first line
of the song. This card was specially made for my niece's upcoming baby
shower - it's a girl! Cricut cut file from Pagoda at 2.75, K&Co epoxy
stickers, Fiskars Rain texture plate. TPC Studios sentiment.
In honor of our inaugural challenge - I am offering a My
Favorite Things (another great supporter of OWH!) stamp set as blog
candy! All you need to do is become a follower of our new blog (Words 2 Scrap By) to win! Random.org will choose a winner on January 6, 2014. You MUST be a follower of Words 2 Scrap By to win. Thank you!!

OWH VCMP - Western Theme
Sandy's Crafty Creations was the last stop on Saturday fro the OWH Virtual Card Making Party. Her challenge? Make a Western themed card. I confess, this was an extremely difficult challenge for me. Western is not a theme I have ever worked with!! I know, that is why they call it a challenge!! I didn't really have the right kind of paper, but I think it works.
Here is my card.
I used the Cricut cartridge "Just Because" Cards. Boot was cut at 3", the words were cut at 2". The background star paper was embossed with a star folder. The card base is kraft paper, and lined with light paper. I accented the lining by stamping a few small stars. I think I need to work on my faux stitching!!!
