Here is a super clean and simple card.
I chose the blue and gold washi on the light grey panel and geometric design to work with this week's Color Throwdown:

When I saw the Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge, I immediately thought it was perfect for washi tape!
Love the narrow washi with the gold layer.

Written in the Stars...
The Twofer challenge this time around is Stars:
Here are my submissions:
I used pearl star die cuts on a navy shimmer background and Unity sentiment for the left card, washi tape with a silver metallic negative die cut and layer for the one on the right. I liked my first washi card better, but realized that the challenge required different occasions, not just different uses. Here is my first one:
Pop by Words 2 Craft By for our Kindness challenge!

Washi Washi Washi
Shopping Our Stash has the challenge Washi Washi Washi. Anyone else thinking Brady Bunch?!?
I am a bit of a washi tape hoarder buyer. This white and silver set by Recollections is my most recent purchase. Love the contrast with the red paper and ink!!

This week's Color Throwdown challenge colors:
I got inky and came up with this:
I stamped the birthday sentiment in white pigment ink, and heat embossed in white. I'm wondering, now, if I should have used polka dot washi tape instead of the chevron... Come join us at Words 2 Craft By for our Vacation challenge!

Washi Tape
I had a major score at Michael's this week, $4.50 for a tube of 8 rolls of washi tape. I need more washi tape like a hole in the head, but I am loving the color orange right now, add in some great purples and reds - I couldn't resist! The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn.
I am sharing this the House of Cards challenge based on this image:

OWH Love No Hearts
I feel an odd combination of joy and sadness as I pack up my last box of cards for OWH. Joy that we have fewer and fewer of our sons and daughters deployed, and sadness at losing the community of crafting "friends".
Washi tape and simple sentiment matted in red and mounted to a black card base (the inside of the card is white). Come play along with some OWH'ers at the Words 2 Scrap By challenge blog.

Let's hear it for the boys...
Seems like June is all about the men in our lives!
We R Memory Keepers and Wal Mart washi tape. Old All Night Media sentiment. White pearl paper on black card base. I think this fits into The Male Room washi tape challenge! There is plenty of time to play along with the June Words2ScrapBy.blogspot.com challenge - It's A Man's World.

I Made This (Background)
This week's challenge at Shopping Our Stash is to make a background doing something more than just stamping. My enabler friend Diana and I each bought washi tape - 12 rolls for $4.50!!! Score!! Of course I need to put it to use!
Peach layer with washi, Unity sentiment, Rusty Hinge ink on sentiment and twill tape. I didn't have ribbon or tape to match, so I inked a piece of off-white twill. Spellbinder dies.

Fusion Challenge: Orange, Teal, and Brown
I love love LOVE the combination of orange, teal, and brown. The current challenge at Fusion Card Challenge is to use those colors, and use their sketch. Challenge accepted!!! I made some cards with this color combo a while back, and was happy to revisit the great SU! washi tape and paper set.
Brown paper base has a herringbone texture. Tangerine paper and ink. Stash sentiment. Retro Fresh washi tape. Super CAS, but I like it!!

The Male Room: Challenge 04 - Create Your Own Background
I received a wonderful, unexpected gift from my friend Annette a few weeks ago. She saw some washi tape, ribbon, and twine that looked like "me" - and bought it as a gift! How sweet is that?!?!
I saw The Male Room Challenge, and realized that Annette had anticipated my needs for this project!
I used a textured piece of gold foil paper, and layered gold and turquoise washi tape as stripes. I mounted it on a piece of SU! paper, and added a a hand cut tag from the DCWV Winter in the Woods Stack mounted a another piece of the turquoise paper. I also added Krylon gold leafing to the edges and gold and silver leafing to the berries on the tag. The turquoise and gold polka dot ribbon is also a gift from Annette. I love this!! Non-traditional colors and a CAS design make a great masculine card! I am blessed to have such a wonderful friend!! I think my mother would have loved this card in her favorite colors. I miss her so.....
