CAS(E) This Sketch #358

I'm trying to play along with some different challenges in an effort to get back my crafting groove.  The CAS(E) this Sketch #358 looks like this:
I bought myself a couple of sets of Echo Park 6 x 6 pads and matching 12 x 12 solid packs, including the America the Beautiful patterns featured in this card:
I used the Daric Assorted Stars embossing folder on the navy layer, and my We R Memory Keepers corner rounder to mimic the edges of the journaling card.

Fushion

The Fusion challenges always intrigue me.  I am pretty literal, so venturing away from the actual image is difficult for me.  I think I strayed outside my comfort zone in this one!!  Here is the image:

I tried to use the framing, the colors, and the shapes in my card:
Quad layered, flourishes, punched stars, older SU! sentiment.  I was inspired by the stars, the blue and white lines, and the framing in the sketch.  Happy 4th to all!!!

Plenty of time to play along with our Love challenge at Words 2 Craft By!!!

Red, White, and Blue

I have 3 friends and a brother with Flag Day birthdays.  Strange coincidence!!  I always make a flag themed card for my brother because he hates sharing HIS day LOL.
Older EP paper die cut into circles, background embossed with Assorted Stars, Unity sentiment.  I am sharing this with the Can You CASE It Red White and Blue challenge.

Be sure to check back on Wednesday for the latest Words 2 Craft By challenge!!!

Operation Write Home Mid-Week Throwdown

I know, it is not mid-week any more.  I am a bit behind!  The challenge this week was for Any Hero cards.  These are sent to our military heroes that need some extra encouragement.

The Americana Cardstock paper pack by Canvas Basics was just perfect for this challenge.

I started to CASE a card from Trinity Designs.  The kraft layer is dry embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  The tag is cut from a Spellbinders die, button and cord from my stash.  However, when I finished, I didn't like the blank space at the bottom, so I filled it in with three layers from a border punch.

I couldn't justify a whole paper pack for one card :), so I made this one also:

Stars were cut with a Spellbinders die, and embellished with buttons from my stash.  I stitched the stars and buttons to the blue polka dot paper, and secured with a dot of glossy accents.  The kraft paper base is too dark to write messages on, so I lined it and stamped a few tiny stars on the corner::
