I am well on my way to my Operation Write Home goal of 365 cards in 2013. I shipped 65 cards earlier this year, and another 82 today.
I know that I am not the most prolific card maker, but I take pride in the care, effort, and (hopefully) quality I try to include in every card. And I am encouraged to know that I am not alone in praying over each one, for the safety of the sender, and the strength of the recipient.

OWH Mid Week Throw Down - Time
This week's OWH Throw Down is to create a card with a time theme. I REALLY struggled with this one. I threw away the first two attempts. This third one isn't great, but it is OK. I am just not follow the rules person!!!!!
OWH Sketch #9, Fiskars sentiment, Offray grosgrain ribbon, Spellbinders embossing folder, DCWV La Creme paper.

OWH Sunday Sketch #169
This week's challenge over at Operation Write Home looks like this:
Here is my take:
K & Company papers and stickers, Cuttlebug embossing folder. The butterfly sticker is on card stock, fussy cut, and then creased at the "body". Only the "body" is adhered to the base. I REALLY wanted to use three flowers, not two. I did restrain myself, LOL!!!

3 Ribbons and 3 Buttons Thank You Card
I have has this beautiful EK Success ribbon for a long time, but never could find card stock that worked well with the unique colors. I saw a card on Paper Pleats that solved my problem!!! I love how this turned out.
I will be making more of these, but will use a stamp that is a little more formal to better reflect the elegance of the ribbon.
Design Boot Camp this month at Operation Write Home is using odd numbers of elements, or The Rule of Threes. Three ribbons, three buttons!! I also think it adheres to the Rule of Thirds in the placement of the ribbons.
Scrap Your Stash has a ribbon challenge - make a project using ribbon, but you are NOT allowed to buy anything new.

Our Daily Bread Things That Fly Challenge
Every month, Our Daily Bread Designs has a challenge to support Operation Write Home. For every 25 entries to their challenge, they will pay the postage for one box of cards to our deployed military. Win Win!! Kelley and Rick are wonderful people with wonderful products.
Here is my "Things That Fly" card:
Spellbinder dies, Offray organza ribbon, Cuttlebug embossing folder, silver vellum sticker that I stuck to a piece of clear plastic, and fussy cut. I folded the wings to give me a flat middle to glue, and wings that popped up. As usual, the picture does not do this one justice...

OWH Mid Week Throw Down - Tags and Twine
This week's challenge is to use twine and a tag.
I pinned a card from Stamp Your Socks Off a while back, wanting to CASE it. Perfect opportunity!!!!
I like it!!!
Sentiment from Above Rubies Studio, Cuttlebug embossing folder, stash twine and button.
I need to do something else for pictures. I use a light box, but still get the yellow cast, even using different bulbs...
