CAS-ual Fridays has a birthday challenge!

I played around with some alcohol inks for the background, and layered a cool die cut on top.  The sentiment was stamped in oxide ink and heat embossed in clear.  Love making the 3.5" x 5" cards.

CAS-ual Fridays sketch challenge: 

My craft room is still in disarray from an unintended redo.  And I broke my go to tool - my original Sizzix Big Kick.  I actually cried.  It was one of the early ones with rollers, and was very heavy.  I didn't realize how hard it is for me to make a card without die cutting or embossing some element!!

I found these fun Ikea stars while cleaning, and added them to the slick white card front.  Sentiment heat embossed in silver, silver mirror card base and stickers.  Not my favorite, but loved how I had to stretch my creative effort!

I'm BAACCKKK!

I have been away for a while.  I went on vacation with friends (more on that to come), and have been sick ever since.  I'm so happy to be back in my craft room!!

I broke out this stencil that arrived before my vacation, but didn't get a chance to use.   I had to try both of the sizes of the same pattern with Oxides Inks, and added sentiments from The Ton.  LOVE!!  Sharing this with the Shopping Our Stash Stencil and the CAS-ual Fridays Beautiful Rainbows challenges.

Sympathy

CAS-ual Fridays has a color challenge this week:

 And the Mod Squad challenge is to make a square card. 

Spellbinders and Imperial Gold die cuts.  I like this color combination for a sympathy card.  Soft, but not morbid.  Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By "Keep love in your heart" challenge. 

Sparkly Butterflies

I have this fabulous Paint Chip paper pad, with each page full of different shades of the same colors.  It's perfect for someone like me who has problems matching colors!!

Butterflies were die cut from an older Spellbinder set.  I added the rhinestones, a narrow ribbon, and DONE!  Sharing this with the CAS-ual Fridays CFC 174 sketch challenge:

CAS-ual Fridays Dimension and Bling

I tried this one a few times, and am not entirely happy with the outcome, but I can live with it!  :)

I don't often make square cards, but this wreath panel screamed for one!  I stamped the Lovely Notes wreath in Venetian Orange and Sepia, then embellished with gold, silver, and copper nail heads.  I die cut the Thanks 3x in gold and pumpkin, edged the panel with gold leaf, and popped it up with dimensionals.  I added the rhinestone leaves to the corners for balance.

Non-Traditional Christmas Card

Love this navy and cream card, but wondering if there is something missing?

Now that we have had a break in the heat, I am starting to work on Christmas cards.  On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me:

I finally inked up this Unity Itty Bitty and stamped it on vellum, colored it with Derwent watercolor pencils, layered on Seven Gypsies paper, and mounted on a dark green card base.  I am sharing this with the Shopping Our Stash/Jingle Belles joint challenge,  CASual Fridays Musical challenge, Merry Monday holly challenge, and Cards in Envy Inspired by a Song.  Whew!  It's unusual for me to have one card entered multiple challenges!!!  Be sure to stop by Words 2 Scrap By for our Talk Like a Pirate challenge!!!!

CAS-ual Fridays CFC 141 - Embossing

The challenge is to create a CAS card with embossing.

Colorful Birthday

I absolutely love turquoise and orange together.  Add in a little kraft and a little washi tape, and I am in heaven!

This SU! tape is the first I ever bought, it's from the Retro Fresh line - perfect for the Shopping Our Stash challenge Use Your Oldest Washi Tape.  The brown is from We R Memory Keepers.  I don't usually get it together to enter a single  card into more than one challenge, but this one is an exception.  Simply Create Too's challenge is to make a card using my favorite color combo.  CAS-ual Fridays' challenge is to use turquoise and orange.  LOVE!!!  This one even meets the Addicted to Stamps CAS challenge!!  Yea me!!

CAS-ual Fridays

The challenge from CAS-ual Fridays is to create a music themed project using spring colors.

I heat embossed the music notes and sentiment in basic black, and colored each of the notes according to the colors of the rainbow.   Subtle, but I like it!!!
