Better Luck Next Time....

Sometimes, no matter how much time and effort I put into a project, it just doesn't work out as planned.  Here is the Fusion Card Challenge inspiration image:
I turned the sketch landscape, used the tree and tower elements, and came up with this:
While not horrible, it just didn't match up with what I envisioned.  Background embossed with Cuttlebug Snowflakes.  The hills are cut with a stitched die in iridescent white paper, the trees are Hero Arts die cuts from green paper, and stamped with shades of green and white.  Sentiment from Kaisercraft.  Just because something doesn't turn out s planned, doesn't make it pretty trash.  I am trying to embrace this philosophy...

Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By for our Proverbs and Blessings challenge, maybe share YOUR pretty trash?!?!   :-)

Christmas Pop Up Card

I haven't spent a lot of time crafting this week.  Between my son being home from college on spring break, the NCAA basketball tournament, and St. Patrick's Day, there has been a lot going on at my house!  I did get some time to play with my new Stampendous Make It Pop! die set.  Took some work, but it is a lot of fun!

Card front:
 Inside:
Clear crystal accents on the front, black crystals inside.  Fun die cuts inside and out.  This will be for someone special this year, as it will require extra padding and postage to accommodate the die cuts and crystals.  Sharing this with the Jingle Belles Bling on the Holidays challenge

Non-Traditional Christmas Colors

Merry Monday has a challenge for cards with non-traditional colors: teal with gold, silver, or copper.  Thier inspiration image:
My card:
Lawn Fawn die cuts in 2 shades of gold (could call the darker one bronze?), pearl, and matte silver, embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, layered on gold and topped with a silver ribbon.  Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By for our Proverbs and Blessings challenge!

A Simple Prayer

Another card using the Hero Arts Prayers Stamp & Cut set:
I flicked Twinkling H2O paint on watercolor paper, Mingo die cut heart, heat embossed the sentiment, and brushed the die cut with Wink of Stella.  I'm sharing this with the Cards in Envy Keep it Simple challenge

Hero Arts Stamp & Cut

Can I tell you how much I love this set?  I bought this set with my middle sister in mind.  I always give her a bundle of cards for her birthday, and this set is perfect for her!!
The patterned strip is from Lawn Fawn Perfect Plaids.  I die cut "prayers" twice, layered it, and topped it off with Wink of Stella.  The stamped sentiment matches much better in person.  Not sure why some colors look different in photos, and others don't.  Sharing this with The Color Throwdown:

W2CB #39: Proverbs & Blessings

Hi W2CB friends!  We had so many awesome entries last month and we can't wait to see your beautiful projects for our latest challenge:  Proverbs & Blessings.

Your quote inspiration this month comes from an Irish proverb:

A good friend is like a four-leaf clover: hard to find and lucky to have.

We know that St. Patrick's Day will come and go during this challenge, but don't let that stop you!  Be creative and link up any project that has a proverb or blessing, is friendship-themed, has a lucky theme, contains anything Irish, or is just primarily shamrock green.

This is a card for my very Irish mother-in-law, whose birthday is just before St. Patrick's Day. The shamrock is made from die cut hearts.  Come play along with us until April 5 at Words 2 Craft By!

M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E!!!

The Color Throwdown has a color challenge that screamed Mickey Mouse to me!!

Right?!?!?!
The green in her hat and the blue on the ground aren't super obvious, but I love this!  Especially since my Intense pencil coloring leaves a lot to be desired....

Doodling Zentangle

I love to draw Zentangles, but I never know what to do with them.  Usually, I make pretty trash!  Not this time.
My Mind's Eye patterned paper strip, OWH sketch #137.  Not sure about this one.  Going to share this with the Addicted to Clean and Simple Doodle challenge #106

A Different Easter Card

Most Easter cards are pastel and feminine.  I wanted a masculine card for my brother:

Graphic 12 Easter Sweet Sentiments stamps on Momenta paper.  I'm sharing this with Creative with Stamps Easter challenge.
