Black & Yellow

Cards in Envy has a black and yellow color challenge.  Those colors make me think of bumble bees, but I wanted to go in a different direction.
If you follow this blog, you already know that i give away mot of my cards.  Some to friends and family, but most of them are donated to Cards for Soldiers (you can find them on Facebook).  I try to make cards that can serve multiple purposes.  These, for example, can be used for a birthday, get well, good luck, etc.  Stampin' Up Dandelion Wishes, Oxide Inks.

Happy Birthday!

The Color Throw Down Challenge this week really had me stumped.
Then I remembered that I have the fabulous Echo Park Getaway pad, and almost every page includes the challenge colors!  Here's my very simple card:
My navy card base looks black in the photo.  Unity sentiment.

Fun Tree Card

Thanks to challenges like The Jingle Belles, I am right on track with my goal of having a handmade Christmas card for everyone my list!  Their challenge this week is to make a shaped card:
Sizzix die, silver Stickles, various rhinestones, star brad.

Baby Swing Card

I love this Echo Park baby paper.  So much that I bought every pad from our area Tuesday Mornings!!  I use it most often to make the shaped baby books, but it is perfect for this baby card!!

Sizzix swing card dies.  Sharing with The Male Room - Wild & Free and The Paper Craft Challenge Crew's Fancy Fold challenges.

I have been missing from the blogosphere for a while - even neglecting my Words 2 Craft By i-team privileges.  All is well.  I was able to spend a long weekend with my brothers and sisters on Lake Erie.  The very next weekend, my husband, son, and son's girlfriend left for a week at the beach in South Carolina.  A few hours after our return home, our son left to go back to college.  In between, I tried to work as much as possible to make up for the time I was spending away.  What a whirlwind!!
