Spirits of Christmas Past

The Jingle Belles challenge is Spirits of Christmas Past - make a vintage looking card.  I'm not much of a vintage/distressed person, but I can adapt!

Deceptively simple looking.  I trimmed a block from an old, unknown paper.  Since the colors were muted, and I didn't have anything that matched well, I used ones that were close, and rubbed them with Chalk FX to tone down the green and black.  The sentiment was stamped in black VersaFine, and heat embossed in clear, again, to mute the color.  LOVE!!!

An Adventure in Clean and Simple

I enjoy following Susan at Simplicity, but I enjoy being messy to be a CAS stamper.  Occasionally, I force myself to work in different styles. 

Less is More has a Perfect Holiday challenge, which fits in nicely with our Words 2 Craft By Vacation challenge!  For me, the perfect vacation involves little more than sitting in the sun and dreaming the day away!

I got inky and came up with this:

I stamped the birthday sentiment in white pigment ink, and heat embossed in white.  I'm wondering, now, if I should have used polka dot washi tape instead of the chevron...  Come join us at Words 2 Craft By for our Vacation challenge!

The black layer was dry embossed with a Pine Branch folder, then highlighted with Inka Gold green and gold.  The Recollections sentiment was heat embossed with copper powder.  Both were matted on bright gold card stock.

W2CB #44 - VACATION

I can't decide if I want to sing Connie Francis, The Go-Go's, or Thomas Rhett.  No matter what music you enjoy, time away is always enjoyed.  The Words 2 Craft By challenge uses this quote:

A vacation is having nothing to do and all day to do it in. ─ Robert Orben

I enjoy time away doing nothing, and time away doing everything!!

 Repeat Impressions ship, Unity sentiment, stash map paper.  Last weekend, I was able to enjoy time with extended family, and bucket lists were a recurring discussion topic.  It was interesting that we shared many of the same dream destinations, despite 20+ year age difference.  Since our husbands are not good travelers, we decided that we should start doing these things without them.  First stop - Carnival in Rio, with a stop in Peru for Machu Picchu!!  These discussions were the inspiration for my project - let the adventures begin!!!  Join us at Words 2 Craft By!!
