The Shopping Our Stash challenge this time is to Shine Bright Like a Diamond, use lots of bling or use something that shines light like a sun, lamp, candle, etc. I used the Taylored Expressions Holly Holiday layering stencil, and replaced the berries with rhinestones (on the left) and sequins (on the right). The sentiments are from the Taylored Expressions Simple Strips.
The layering stencil creates 3 card fronts at once, and Simple Strips stamps and cuts 18 sentiments at once. Makes mass production so easy!Thursday, December 1, 2022

Tiny Buttons
The entire time I was working on this card, I had the Tiny Bubbles song running through my head!! Shopping Our Stash had a challenge to dig deep into your stash and create with old-school favorites like eyelets, brads, ribbons and/or buttons. I have thousands (no exaggeration) of said items in my hoard.
We created a similar card in the Elle's Studio class from Crop and Create using stamped flowers. I used a couple of punches for the flowers and added the coordinating buttons as the centers, and some tiny flower buttons instead of bling. I used scraps of same paper I used for the flowers to make the rainbow accents. I popped up the "friend" with a bit of foam tape to make it the same height as the buttons. Fun!!!

The Little Details
I generally emboss my envelope flaps, but never remember to embellish otherwise. Just Us Girls (JUGS) has a challenge to make a matching envelope - good reminder!
Falling For You layered stencils from Taylored Expressions. Love how there are coordinating stamps to add the veins on the leaves. Echo Park sentiment.Saturday, November 12, 2022
So Happy We Are Family
I am loving the Taylored Expressions Falling For You layering stencils for mini slimline cards. Four different stencils layered together to make 3 cards at once.
Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Antique Linen, Weathered Wood, and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxides. I layered a few of the colors together to get the right shades, especially for the grey acorns. The sentiment is from my stash, not sure of the brand. Sharing with the Color Throwdown:

Turquoise & Mustard
I am on a mission to use up some of my patterned paper, or I am going to make myself sell some of it off. I can't decide what is worse, using it or getting rid of it! Either way I won't have it anymore. What a terrible way to think lol.
Stampin' Up Moonlight paper, Spellbinders die cuts. I like this layout! This week's challenge at Color Hues is to use Turquoise and Mustard:

Make the Cards Challenge #67 - Thankful
This week's challenge over at Make the Cards is Thankful. I am so thankful that I was able to participate in the Scrapbook and Cards Today Crop and Create virtual event this fall. The Taylored Expressions project was a layering stencil that makes 3 mini slimline cards at one time. I changed up the colors a bit and came up with these:
Oxide inks finished off with Distress Glaze. Colors I used: Broken China, Aged Mahogany, Walnut Stain, Frayer Burlap, Fossilized Amber.
November SAS4Kids Challenge - Holiday Cards
Time for another Send A Smile $ Kids challenge! The November challenge is to make holiday cards.
I love using vellum as the shadow for word die cuts, even if I have to cut the shadow on my Scan n Cut. Be sure to link up your holiday creation on the SAS4Kids blog!

October 2023: Holiday/Celebration Cards 4 Kids
Time to start working on holiday cards! This month's challenge at Send A Smile 4 Kids is to create a Holiday/Celebration card.
The red is heavy flocked paper. Belt is 2" glossy black, and the while is 1.25" pearl paper. The buckle is a square with rounded corners and hand cut slits for the "belt". CAS, but includes lots of texture and sparkle!Tuesday, September 6, 2022
Navy and Lime Green?!?!
The challenge this week at Color Hue is Lime Green and Navy. Interesting combo that I was unsure I could manage. Be sure to check out the design team offerings, gave me a whole new perspective!
The stencil and dies are from Concord & 9th, from the Crop and Create spring 2022 class. I used SU! Lemon Lime and Night of Navy inks, with different saturations.

Layered Stencils
I participated in the Crop and Create online event last March, and was introduced to layering stencils by Taylored Expressions. So easy, and I love how detailed they are!
This one is called In My Garden. The stencil makes 3 mini slimline cards at a time, all of them different. After I finished stenciling, I used markers and a white gel pen to add some highlights to the flowers.
I love stacking multiple cuts of word dies. Vicki Boutin used puffy foam to achieve the dimension. Genius! Much cleaner than trying to perfectly glue together a bunch of layers, and the foam I had on hand already had adhesive on one side.

Busy Summer!
I can't believe I haven't posted in 3 weeks!!! Summer is always busy, and this year is no different. Paper crafting shop hop, dog park outings, backyard cookouts, a great professional golf tournament with family members, celebrating 28 years of marriage. So much goodness!! Back to a more predictable schedule and more crafting!! Back at it, starting with a Paper Craft Crew Challenge sketch challenge:
Super old SU paper, Taylored Expressions Simple Strips sentiment, and Memory Box Peonies die cut. Simple, but I love the sketch!

A Gift For You
I love how metallic paper looks against a black background:
Since the slick black paper can't take heat embossing, I broke out an old silver sticker for the sentiment. Sharing with the Make the Cards challenge to use a black background.
Send A Smile 4 Kids August 2022: Thank You Cards - Challenge #228
Send A Smile 4 Kids has a child oriented thank you card challenge. I love this sentiment for kids!
The colorful paper is from a (very) old Martha Stewart pad, sentiment from Stamper's Best. Be sure to link up your project at the Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge blog!Thursday, July 21, 2022
Happy Birthday!
I needed a masculine birthday card, and came up with this:
NOW I know what I was thinking when I bought this sentiment! It is perfect for this guy. Sharing with The Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge:
And with the really fun challenge form Shopping Our Stash: WTHeck Embellishments, go through the stash and find embellishments that make you wonder why do you even have them, and use them.

Patriotic Popsicles
The Freshly Made Sketches challenge reminded me of a picnic:
Fussy cut SU popsicle layered on the picnic "blanket". So cute! I adhered to the sketch pretty closely.Sunday, July 17, 2022
Color Challenge
Just Us Girls color week prompt is coral, grey, and gold.
Altenew Painted Poppy in Festive Berries and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide. I used a swipe of Weathered Wood Distress Oxide for the grey, and placed everything on a shiny gold layer. The tiny sentiment is from SU. Like most of my CAS cards, it took a lot of time and pretty trash!!Saturday, July 16, 2022
Celebrate with a Shaker
The Male Room has a Monochrome challenge As I was editing my card photo, I realized that my first Male Room challenge was #9! They are now up to challenge #164. Great staying power for a great group!
I participated in the Scrapbook & Cards Today Crop & Create back in March, and one of my favorite sets was from Concord & 9th. I used their turnabout stencil with 3 different shades of blue to create the polka dots. Balloon die to make the shaker opening, and stamped the sentiment so that it showed through the shaker filled with clear and white sequins. Love this!!!

Soft Ink Blending
I love the colors in this week's Color Throwdown, and decided to take a little softer approach:
Pinkfresh stamp, stencil, and dies. Taylored Expressions ink. SU Subtle Shimmer sequins. As Laura Bassen says, dimension is life. Both the stenciled die cuts and the panels are popped up with dimensional tape.
I think it is interesting how the different saturations of the same colors gives a completely different look!Saturday, July 9, 2022
Rainbow Leaves
The Freshly Made Sketch this week seemed perfect for a simple sympathy card:
Paper Pumpkin sentiment, Spellbinders die cuts, Taylored Expressions Lollipop, Pumpkin Pie, Pineapple, Cookie Monster, Blue Corn inks. The rainbow leaves were inspired by a Cathy Zielski project, and the layout by Freshly Made Sketches:

Blending In
Shopping Our Stash has a fun Blending In challenge - use ink blending on the project.
Reverse stenciling technique using Taylored Expressions Jelly Donut, Cookie Monster, and Blue Corn in, with Chantilly stencil and black ink. The effect is so pretty, it can stand on its own with little embellishment. Added the heat embossed sentiment, a few coordinating layers, done!

Green Thumb
The only way I have a green thumb is on paper! This week The Paper Players have a theme challenge "Green Thumb":
Daisies for Days background stamp and centers from Taylored Expressions. I die cut the "hello", scanned it into the Brother Scan and Cut, cut a vellum shadow layer to set off the sentiment just a bit. Added Crushed Curry ribbon and base layer to complete the project. This is as close to flowers I will have around my house lol!

Fancy Fold Vellum Card
I participated in the Crop and Create Delivered card making event last March, and Libby Hickson taught a great fun fold card class using vellum. Here is my take:
I'm sharing this with Make The Cards Challenge, make a fancy fold card.
I used Taylored Expressions Squeeze The Day stamp and stencil set to create the lemons (Pineapple for lemons), leaves (Peapod), and sentiment. I also attached a white panel to the back for additional writing space. Love this!!Sunday, July 3, 2022
You Are Mer-mazing!
The challenge from The Color Throwdown reminded me of the sea and mermaid scales:
Sizzix Scales & Tails cut and emboss folder, sequin soup mixed by me, air bubbles cut out of holographic paper. I don't make shaker cards very often. They are a lot of work, and I'm not usually happy with the results. I am thrilled with this one! Here is the inspiration photo:Send A Smile $ Kids is having a Christmas in July challenge. Join us!

Hello Sunshine
The Paper Craft Crew has a horizontal sketch challenge:
This card is rich with texture. The purple gauze paper is from DCWV, the butterfly is a very old K & Co sticker on heavy card stock cut out on my Scan n Cut and popped up with some foam tape. The cream square is dry embossed, and matching pearls round out the project. Here is the PCC sketch:
July 2022: Christmas in July 4 Kids - Challenge #227
It's Christmas in July at Send A Smile 4 Kids! This month's challenge is to make a non-religious holiday card:
I love the non-traditional colors in this paper line from Echo Park.
Send A Smile 4 Kids is a charitable blog created for the purpose of collecting donated handmade cards to be distributed to children while they are inpatient at Children’s Hospitals. Currently we are donating them to many children's hospitals all over the USA.
On any given day, there are many children inpatient in these hospitals so we would love to receive as many cards as you can send to cheer them and their families. The kids may also use your cards as Thank You Notes to the nurses and doctors and to give to parents or relatives on special days like birthdays or Mothers or Fathers Day.

The Paper Players have a Clean-and-Simple Challenge from Jaydee.
Concord & 9th stencil for the background, and a Unity foil transfer for the hot pink sentiment. I added some water drops as accents.
Here Comes Santa Claus...
I try to make holiday cards all year. I appreciate the Jingle Belles for their regular challenges for keeping me on track! This week's challenge is to include Santa:
Echo Park papers and tag. Love the non-traditional colors in the line of paper!

Primary Colors
Just Us Girls (JUGS!) has a red, yellow, and blue challenge.
The yellow layer is stenciled in VersaMark with one by Lawn Fawn, stamped and die cut with Elle's Studio Sincere Sentiments set. Love the bold colors!
I added in a tiny bit of green and purple to complete the rainbow.
