Christmas in July
Shopping Our Stash has a kraft challenge this week. I love the look of kraft and white or eggshell. Since I always find myself short of Christmas cards, I thought this was a perfect opportunity to add a few to my stash.
The embossing folder was a Tuesday Morning find from Richard Gray, and the texture reminded me of warm winter sweaters. I mounted the textured kraft on matching paper, and popped up both panels with dimensional tape. While I like the eggshell color paper and proportions better, I like the twine on the white card better than the twill tape. Option are good, learning is great!!!

CAS Sympathy
I need to build up my stash of sympathy cards, and the Paper Craft Crew's sketch is perfect:
Here is my version:
Love the washi tape tripe. Sentiment from Unity, die cuts are a mix of Ellen Huston and SU! Swirly Birds cut with adhesive paper. Still deciding if I want to add any bling like the sketch suggests...
Come play along with us at Words to Craft By for our Flip Floppin' challenge!!

Thinking of You
Loving the Color Throwdown shades of the ocean.
And they led into the perfect response to the Try Stamping on Tuesday's Tic Tac Toe, striaght across the middle row:
The card base is white, the circles holographic silver, and the circles aqua and bright blue, sentiment from Gina Marie. I really hate trying to take picture of metallic papers, but I love this card!!!

Color Slider Christmas Card - Photo Heavy Post!!
I wanted to make a color slider card. In the process, I made a lot of pretty trash!!!
I inked the background with oxide inks and added the snowflakes in white, cut the snow with a stitched dies, stamped the Recollections image, patterned paper DCWV. I stamped the image on the transparency with Staz-On, and colored the other image with Derwent watercolor pencils.
I am sharing this with The Paper Girls Challenge #156 - Transparencies, and Shopping Our Stash #362 - Christmas in July, and Jingle Belles All Bundled Up. Wow!!!! I rarely am able to enter more than one challenge at a time!!!

All Bundled Up for Christmas in July
The Jingle Belles challenge is All Bundled Up, holiday cards with LAYERS... three or more layers, to be specific. When I hear layers, I think about triple time stamping my way - using dies.
Shopping Our Stash also a Christmas challenge - perfect for hot and steamy July!!
Gold metallic paper, the poinsettia layers are from SU! The old Recollections sentiment is heat embossed. I used Lawn Fawn stitched dies to make the SEVEN layers!! Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By for our Flip Flipping Summer challenge (talk about opposites!!).

Try Stampin' On Tuesday (or Thursday!)
The Try Stampin' On Tuesday has a sketch challenge this week:
Here is my version:
I wanted the patterned paper to blend rather than contrast, and I love the way the elephants pick up the grays in the paper!

Here Fishy Fishy!
The Male Room's challenge this round is Fish/Fishing. I love to use the Hero Arts layering stamps with Oxide Ink.
I inked up the background, and added the seaweed in the same colors. I "flicked" water on the background to create bubbles, and added Glossy Accents to the bubbles. The goldfish were fussy cut and popped up on the base. It was quite time consuming, but worth it for a friend's 80th birthday. We spent many happy hours together at the beach. Love you, J!

Happy Birthday Color Thowdown!
The Color Throwdown is celebrating their 500th challenge! I checked my blog. Since I started entering challenges in July of 2012, I have joined in about 70 of their challenges. Thanks for the inspiration CTD!!
Here is my response:
I love the gold vertical element. I find myself going back to the Swirly Bird SU! set often, and I love the Watercolor Wishes sentiments. Happy Birthday, Color Throwdown!

Circles and More Circles
The Shopping Our Stash challenge this week is Geometric:
I made the card is 3.5" x 5" to keep the circles in proportion. The circles were cut from adhesive paper, making it MUCH easier. Lesson learned - I traced the inside of the black circles with black marker to hide the tiny difference in size. Makes for a more polished look.

Popsicles!!!
The House of Cards challenge looks like this:
Here is mine:
I have had a bag of mini popsicle sticks forever, and finally have a project for them!!! The white background is embossed with clouds. The popsicles are paint chips. The texture and sheen are perfect for these treats! The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

Welcome Baby!
I'm playing along with The Color Throwdown:
I "flicked" yellow, green, and blue watercolor paint on the background, and layered it on a pretty blue paper. I couldn't decide if I liked the ribbon or not, so made it both ways. Which one do you like better?
Blue Mandala
I have a great stencil, and inked it with a variety of oxide inks.
I love how easily the inks blend with stencils. Sharing this with Cards in Envy's Blue and Distressed challenge.

Inspired by a Movie
The Male Room challenge is "Inspired by a Movie". Can you guess my movie?
Art C die cut, Unity sentiment, stash paper. Your choice on the movie. Bambi? The Deer Hunter? Reindeer Games?
