OWH Mid-Month Throwdown - Winter Love You

The mid-month throwdown is to create a love card with a winter theme.  Here is mine:

The DCWV Winter Stack background paper is purple snowflakes, embossed with a snowflake embossing folder.  The sentiment is a sticker from Doodlebug Designs.  Hearts from  Marvy punch.

Only one more week to play along with the November Words2ScrapBy.blogspot.com challenge - Gratitude!

OWH VCMP CHallenge - Winter 2 ways

JoAnn has a great challenge - 2 cards!  One for Christmas, one for winter.

Here are mine:

I struggled with these, but I am pleased with my results.  Stash brads for the toppers, sequin and satin ribbons for the vertical elements.  Star paper embossed with Sizzix embossing folder, DCWV Winter Magic striped paper.

Thanks, JoAnn!  Great thought starter!

OWH Mid-Week Throw Down - Multiples

This week's challenge is to Multiply the Fun.  With the winter holidays rapidly approaching, the OWH deadlines come even faster.  The deadline for multiple holiday cards if OCTOBER 15!!!!!!  Really?!?!  I think I blinked!!!

I will not have a full box to send before the multiples deadline, so I thought I would concentrate on winter thank you cards.  I am sure that many units receive holiday packages, and will want to thank those who sent the packages.

Here are my cut papers:

And here is one of my finished cards:
Not one of my favorite cards, despite being made from my favorite papers.  Just feel like it is missing something.  Feel free to make suggestions!!  The white strip is pearl paper embossed with the Sizzix Snowflakes texture plate.  Patterned papers are from the DCWV Winter Stack.  The blue circle paper is glittered and embossed (it does pass the sweater test - I checked!).  The card base is blue on one side, white on the inside, with a subtle herringbone pattern.  OWH Sketch #93.  Fiskars sentiment.
