Sketch Challenge

I needed a birthday card for my dear sister in law, and Tuesday Morning Sketches had the perfect layout!
I used some old K & Co papers, and my favorite Painter Poppy stamp:
Happy Birthday, Tammy!!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches

I'm on a roll!!  Four posts in 3 days!  Their sketch:
My version:
The card is black and cream with red accents.  Love this layout, will be making more like this with a sympathy sentiment.  I bought the stamp set used - anyone know the name or creator?

Playful Palette

I bought the SU DSP Playful Pallette paper to go with a Paper Pumpkin, but I never figured out what to do with it.  Then I saw the Tuesday Morning Sketch this week!  It's perfect for a very busy, bold patterned paper.
The organza ribbon on the first one needed the tie, but I think the wider grosgrain on the second was good without it.  I really liked how Patti had her die cut sentiment extend outside of the oval, and I decided to do the same.  Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By and show us where you feel most alive!

Sympathy Cards - the hardest of all

I HATE making sympathy cards.  Regardless of circumstance, losing a loved one (furry or human) is hard.  My card stash is in dire need of these, as they are needed more and more often.  Must be a life stage...

Tuesday Morning Sketches has a perfect layout:
Here are my versions:
I used beautiful matte silver paper for the focal points embossed with Darice and Gina Marie folders, and layered them on some yummy slick card stock embossed with more Darice folders.  The sentiment is from Unity.  Can you tell I got a new (old) Sizzix?  Found a new in clam shell packaging Big Kick on eBay for $65 with shipping.  I will keep my repaired one as a back up.

I will be in and out of the blogosphere for a while longer.  My college kid had major knee surgery this week, and we are expecting a rough few days ahead.  Best news - he is expected to regain 90%+ function.  For an athlete, that is a great outcome.  He is hoping that he will be ready to compete this season, starting in December.  We are hoping that he can walk without pain for many years.  Oh, the perspective age provides!

A Very Purple Birthday

I love purple and black as a color combo, but it can be a bit dark.
I think the glitter paper brightens it up.  The tiny stars are punched from the same glitter paper, the squares are cut with layered Spellbinder dies, and the sentiment is from Unity.  I love this layout from Tuesday Morning Sketches:

Halloween!

Tuesday Morning Sketches had a fun challenge this week:
http://tuesdaymorningsketches.blogspot.com/2017/09/tuesday-morning-sketches-422.html
Here is my take:
I added layers to the elements to make them pop a bit.  The chevron paper is from a DCWV fall paper pad, the stamps are unknown - maybe really old SU!?  I love my MISTI, I had to stamp the images a few times to fill in the solid areas, and the images are still crisp.  I am also sharing this with Darnell's NMBUS (Never Before Used Schutff) challenge because these secondhand stamps have never been used by me!  Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By for our Logic vs. imagination challenge!
