Happy Fall!!

Not so much here is southwestern Ohio.  It has been 90 degrees+ for the past week :).  Fusion has the following challenge:
I made a lot of pretty trash working on this challenge.  Still unsure of my color combination.
DCWV burlap paper, stash ribbon.   Be sure to stop by Words 2 Craft By for our Ahoy Matey challenge!!!

Sunshine & Laughter

Fusion has a great image for inspiration:
I used Spellbinder dies, cut Craft Smith Paint Chip paper, layered the petals in ombre, fastened them together with tiny white brads, then added a Hero Arts sentiment.

Easter Egg

The Fusion challenge this week is:
As soon as I saw the image, I thought of a Gina K die that doesn't get enough love:
This Bazzill embossed paper is the perfect background for the Gina K die and grosgrain ribbon.  On the inside, I included a Gina K Happy Easter die cut in the same dark purple as the egg.

Pretty Wreath

Coloring is not my greatest talent, but I am happy enough with this one.
The background is an old SU! stamped in grey.  The wreath and sentiment were stamped in the same ink, and colored with Inktense pencils.  Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By for our Abundance challenge!

Make a Wish!

The Fusion challenge looks like this:
http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/2017/09/fusion-sunshine-on-cloudy-day.html
I took my inspiration from the horizontal elements and the sun/sky.
Martha Stewart border punch in 6 shades of blue for the sky, cascaded and mounted on a navy base.  Clearly Defined sentiment, We R Memory Keepers die cut (pretty close to the stars in the border punch, right?), stash ribbon.  The Logic vs. Imagination challenge at Words 2 Craft By runs through Wednesday!

Gold, Pink, and Aqua - Oh My!!

I love playing with metallics!
Another angle:
Really cute layout from the Fusion Glamping Challenge, the aqua was just a bonus!

I am also sharing this with the Shopping Our Stash On Trend challenge.  The triangles, hot pink, aqua, and gold are pretty trendy in my world!!

Watercolor Hello

I've been missing my Mom a lot lately, so I thought I would make a card in her favorite color.

Watercolor background, Lawn Fawn die cut Hello cut and layered 3x and highlighted with Wink of Stella.  Sharing this with the Less is More Anything But Stamps Challenge and Fusion Hello Challenge.  Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By and show us how you define Liberty!!

Fushion

The Fusion challenges always intrigue me.  I am pretty literal, so venturing away from the actual image is difficult for me.  I think I strayed outside my comfort zone in this one!!  Here is the image:
http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/2017/06/fusion-4th-of-july-jars.html
I tried to use the framing, the colors, and the shapes in my card:
Quad layered, flourishes, punched stars, older SU! sentiment.  I was inspired by the stars, the blue and white lines, and the framing in the sketch.  Happy 4th to all!!!

Fusion Challenge

The Fusion challenge looks like this:
I love the green in the bike, and the sketch is deceptively simple.
SU!  Succulent papers, Watercolor Words sentiments.  I struggle with stamping on patterned paper, but I think that the heat embossing is strong enough!!

Chalk

All I can say is, I tried.  I love the look of chalk, but it always seems messy.  I tried to clean things up.  Maybe it's meant to look distressed?
The squares are older Jillie Bean stamps, the sentiment SU!.  Love this 3.5 x 5 sized card!!  Sharing this with the Fusion Chalk Baking Challenge.  The cake counts as baking, right?!?!?

Getting Inky...

The Color Throwdown this week uses great spring colors.
I used the sketch from the Fusion Card Challenge:

and came up with this:
I started with a mottled gold base, and added a Recollections resist paper inked up in yellow, green, and blue.  I also inked white paper and dies cut the thanks and the circle, added more mottled paper for the base circle layer, and popped up the focal point.

There's still time to play along with us at Words 2 Craft By for our Let's Party challenge!

CAS Birthday Card

I really like the Fusion challenge this round.  Here is their inspiration image:
Great CAS sketch, and I love the floral spray.
The base is a wonderful wood grain with a pink tint, and the floral paper is a perfect match IRL.  Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft be for our latest challenge phrase, Arithmetic is being able to count to twenty without taking off your shoes.

The Fusion challenge looks like this:

Here's my version:
I love this payout, and the colors were cool, too!  B for BDay or Bobbi, whatever you decide :)!  Paper Studio teal paper layered on a grey card base.  Same grey paper used in the horizontal element and the  monogram layering.  Gold letter cut in gold foil with my Zing.  Happy dance!!

Luck!!

I love using paint chips in my crafting.  The subtle shades make for fun options.
There are seven different shades of green on this card!  LOVE!!

Fusion

It is hard for me to do the Fusion challenges, since I always want to follow both the inspiration image and the sketch.
http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/2016/01/fusion-woodgrain-neutral.html
Here is my attempt:
This Cloud 9 Wild Indigo papers all have a wood grain base.  The sentiment and circle frame are heat embossed and cut with Spellbinder dies.  Come play along with us at Words 2 Craft By for our New Beginnings challenge!

Creative Work Arounds

The Fusion Card Challenge this week features some of my favorite colors - gray, teal, and coral.  So, how is it that I don't have ANY nice paper in those colorways?!?!?  Time to get creative.  Here are my cards:

I stamped a dozen inchie images in Versamark on 2 sheets of white paper, and heat embossed in clear.  I took one sheet and smeared alcohol inks in cranberry and orange on one, and stream and blue on the other.  I then die cut each inchie.  Since I didn't have any gray paper in wood grain, I used a Cuttlebug wood grain embossing folder to stamp and heat emboss in clear.  I then smeared a LOT of blending solution with a few drops of Staz On black ink, since I didn't have any gray or black alcohol ink.  I used different sides of the folder for each background.  I didn't love the mint green twine on the first card, so I used a darker green on the second one.  I had so much fun getting inky!!!

Here is their inspiration image/sketch:

Fusion Challenge: Orange, Teal, and Brown

I love love LOVE the combination of orange, teal, and brown.  The current challenge at Fusion Card Challenge is to use those colors, and use their sketch.  Challenge accepted!!!  I made some cards with this color combo a while back, and was happy to revisit the great SU! washi tape and paper set.
Brown paper base has a herringbone texture.  Tangerine paper and ink.  Stash sentiment.  Retro Fresh washi tape.  Super CAS, but I like it!!

Fusion - Heartful

I found a new-to-me challenge blog with an intriguing concept. They provide a sketch and a photo, and you can respond to just the sketch challenge, just the inspiration photo challenge, or create FUSION by combining both challenges into one card. OK, I am up for it! Here are the photo and sketch:
My response was pretty literal:
I stamped the heart in Versamark, heat embossed, and die cut with a Spellbinder die. As usual, my stamping and embossing were imperfect, so I took my embossing marker and filled in the edges, then layered it on a scalloped heart. I added the horizontal and banner elements with ribbon. Congrats and best of luck on your new blog Fusion!
