Sunshine or Sunburst?!?

The Paper Players has a Sunshine & Rainbows challenge.  Maybe not sunshine, but a sunburst:
Bazzill paper scraps, Simon Says and old Fiskars sentiments.
Not exactly sunshine, but will a sunburst work?!?

Thinking of You

The inspiration image is:
 http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/2016/08/throwdown-countdown-404.html
 I love this color combo!
I used Versamark ink and a stamp from the Lovely Notes box from Catherine Pooler and to add some interest to the rounded squares.  The sentiment is from Fiskars. I am also sharing this with the Creative with Stamps Geometric challenge.  The next Words 2 Craft By challenge starts August 10!!

House of Cards July Challenge

This month's HOC is to create a card with a fruit/drink image and/or use these colors:
I worked very hard on and was so proud of this card - until I took a closer look...
Do you see it?  My plaid layer edge is not the same width as the base layer...  Grrrrr.  I know, we are our own worst critic, but I think I need to try again.  The plaid paper of from Lawn Fawn, the blue from DCWV Dots and Stripes.  Fiskars image and Unity sentiment stamped in VersaFine black and heat embossed in clear.  I love how that combo makes the stamping look soft, without making it look blurry.   Cupcake colored with Derwent watercolor pencils.  Come play along with our Words2CraftBy.blogspot.com Just Keep Swimming challenge!!!

Color Throwdown # 351 - Lilac, Pink, Black

This week at The Color Throwdown #351, the colors are lilac, pink, and black.  LOVE!!!  I have been playing with Color Burst powdered watercolor ink, and this challenge fit perfectly with some of the paper backgrounds I have created.  The first card has a shiny background, the second a striped texture.

I used Freshly Made Sketches #185 for my layout.  The butterflies are cut with Cheery Lynn Designs die and the paper created with Strathmore Watercolor Paper and Colorburst powder.  Ribbons are SU! and Offray.  Pierced rectangles are from Lawn Fawn.  Sentiments are older Fiskars clear stamps.  Come play with us at the Words2ScrapBy.blogspot.com sweet July challenge - Friends With Chocolate!

The Card Concept #38

The inspiration for The Card Concept is:
http://bobbistreasure.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-card-concept-38.html
Love the colors, and the image is so peaceful.  Here is my Clean and Layered version:

A few years ago, when I lost my Mom, my cousin gave me a package of thank you notes and stamps.  What a sweet, practical gesture!  To pay my cousin's kindness forward, I am making thank you notes for a local family who is facing leukemia.  Their son, James, is only 18.

The gold layers are Bazzil, the black is shiny from my stash.  The patterned paper is DCDW Posies mat stack, with a beautiful shimmer.  Sentiment is Fiskars.
